{cruise day 5/11}
We had a St Patrick’s Day party last night. I guess St Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 18th on cruise-ships. Anyway, it turned out to be really good. Some of the crew had acquired green paint and sparkles. So obviously there was only one thing for me to do: paint a t-shirt and cover my face with sparkles. It seems like sparkles make all parties better. But apparently you should wait for the paint to dry before wearing a painted t-shirt. Fun times.

We were in St Lucia again today. As luck would have it Val, a Couchsurfer from Toronto, was visiting her home in St Lucia and got in touch with me. I hadn’t met her before but that’s the whole charm of the CouchSurfing community. It was awesome. She picked me up and took me to Pigeon beach. We hiked up a hill there and went to a funky little cafe for lunch. I had yummy fish roti and Piton (Pee-Thon) beer. And then we went for a drive up one of the peaks where there was a beautiful view of the island and a cute batik store. Great host, great day. I felt that I finally saw St Lucia. I love seeing places from the eyes of a local.
